Where's My Bike At?
Our Story
Whembat, short for "Where's My Bike At?!", was born out of a shared frustration in a Berlin flat. Here's the thing: everyone in our flat, at some point, had their bike stolen. It's a story that's all too common here. We've all felt that sinking feeling, coming out to find an empty space where our bikes used to be. In Germany, a bike goes missing every minute. We have had enough.
We're not just bike lovers; we're tech enthusiasts with a knack for IT and AI. So, we thought, why not use our skills for something that really matters to us and our community? That's how Whembat came to life.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: help you find your stolen bike. We know the pain of losing a bike to theft and the often futile search that follows. Whembat is here to change that.
Here's how it works: you upload a photo of your stolen bike on our website. Using AI, Whembat scans online marketplaces, social media, and police databases for any sign of your bike. If there's a match, you'll know.
Why Whembat?
- Personal Experience: We've been there. We understand the frustration and the feeling of helplessness that comes with bike theft.
- Community Focus: This isn't just about us. It's about creating a safer, more trustworthy space for bike owners in our city, and hopefully, beyond.
- Tech for Good: We're putting our IT and AI expertise to a meaningful cause. It's tech, but with a heart.
- Empowerment: We want to give power back to bike owners. With Whembat, you're not just waiting for good news; you're actively searching for it.
